Duo Rally - Summit to Sea + February 27th to March 2nd 2025.

Here it is - The Duo Rally - a rally designed for couples , friends , boyfriend /girlfriend , high school pals , sorority sisters , Father/sons , etc.

THERE ARE A LIMITED NUMBER OF TEAM ENTRIES AVAILABLE 

The Duo Rally will test your skills as a team , how good are your navigation skills, think you know your "overlanding skills"?  Show us what you got.  This rally is a mental masterpiece designed to test your everything. The challenge will be to stay focused and your ability to manage time. 

The Duo Rally will take the rally teams from the NC high country to the crisp white beaches on the Atlantic ocean. 

Lodging will be provided at the starting line Thursday evening as well as the finish line on Sunday evening.

Our traveling chef - Nate Derstine with Trail to Table will be joining and traveling across the state to keep the teams fed with delicious breakfasts and unbelievable dinners. Protein heavy snacks and fresh fruit as well. Hot fresh coffee each morning will be provided.

2-27-2025-Thursday at 3:00pm---Teams will gather at the starting line in the mountains of North Carolina on the afternoon of February 27th for tech inspection , driver's meeting , and a kick-off gathering.

2-28-2025-Friday--- Teams will have an early morning start with HOT coffee as they start working their way east with required checkpoints along the way. Teams will camp together this evening in provided tents and a group fire to share your tales from the first day of competition.

3-01-2025- Saturday --- Another early morning start as the teams find themselves in the piedmont region of North Carolina.  Teams will use the first part of the day to show their skills at some "Overlanding" tasks before they start their journey east.  When night time arrives the teams will be able to smell the salt in the air. Another night camping with all the teams , delicious dinner and another warm campfire to tell the tall tales and check your rig over . This day will be the day to exhibit your off-roading skills - remember that you have to get your rig to the finish line .

3-02-2025 - Sunday - This is the final day for the teams to give it their all and capture as many points as possible .  Competition will end at 3:00pm.  Teams will be able to check into their rooms and grab a shower before the 4:30pm "Social Hour' followed by dinner and award ceremony .

Challenges will include - All are optional - the teams can choose how they decide to accrue points.

Vehicle Requirements 

  1. Valid tag and insurance 
  2. 28" or larger tires
  3. AWD or 4x4
  4. Fire extinguisher
  5. Working headlights and taillights
  6. Spare tire 
  7. Jack and lug wrench 
  8. Recovery point on both front and rear 

Required Gear

  1. Camping gear - warm sleeping bag or blankets , pillows , ground mattress or cot 
  2. Plenty of drinking water 
  3. GPS - App or Stand alone unit 
  4. recovery gear 
  5. 20 foot recovery straps - no substitutes
  6. work gloves for both people 
  7. camera or cell phone
  8. tire gauge

Suggested Gear

       1. Self recovery winch

       2. Canoe with paddles and PFDs

       3. Traction boards

       4. Air compressor for tire inflation

       5. Shovel

       6. Extra valve cores 

       

      Rules 

  1. All vehicle will have a tracker installed at tech inspection - these are tamper resistant 
  2. All teams will be required to run team numbers on the driver and passenger doors as well as an event windshield banner ( banners can be trimmed for jeeps with adaptive cruise )
  3. Speeding will result in penalties - tracker records each incident 
  4. The Duo Rally is for TWO PERSON teams ONLY - no passengers allowed 
  5. All teams will be required to camp together is designated areas 
  6. Teams are responsible for all drinking water , snacks and daily lunches 
  7. Recoveries will only be made in the off road areas and beach ( deep sand) 
  8. Deadlines will be strictly adhered to - Penalties resulting
  9. This is a rain or shine event with cool nights and warm days - dress accordingly 
  10. Teams must possess an Instagram page for scoring purposes 
  11. Team media personnel are allowed but must register as a "media team" (Insurance purposes)
  12. Team support personnel are also allowed but must register as a "support vehicle" ( Again , for insurance purposes)
  13. Drivers and navigators are allowed to swap places but the teams will have a driver of record and a navigator of record .
